Tire Returns, Refunds and Exchanges
- Typically, all tires at Canada Tire Pro can be returned to the shop within 30 days of purchase for full refund or exchange.
- To be eligible for any return, a tire must be in the same condition in which it was sold.
- A tire that has been installed is not eligible for return.
- Tires listed as ‘final sale’ cannot be returned under any circumstances. Any customer purchasing a ‘final sale’ tire will be notified prior to purchase to confirm the returns policy.
PCR Tire General Warranty
The PCR warranty below applies to PCR (passenger car radial) tires – these are tires sold for passenger cars and cover 99% of tires sold at Canada Tire Pro.
Quick Overview
For a quick overview of our PCR tires warranty, see the below points:
- Tires are covered under warranty for 50,000km or 1 year from purchase date, whichever comes sooner.
- The warranty is a manufacturers warranty and covers defects in the tire such as bulging, cracking or spliting.
- User damage such as crashes or punctures are not covered under warranty.
- Tires must be rotated every 10,000km or in accordance with vehicle recommendations, whichever distance is lower.
- Defective tires must be returned to the original Canada Tire Pro location for inspection
- Tires listed as ‘Final Sale‘ are not covered under warranty. Final Sale tires will be confirmed with the customer before purchase.
Full Limited Warranty Details
For the full warranty details, please read the below points.
Canada Tire Pro offers 1 year or 50,000 km warranty whichever comes first. An eligible tire that becomes unfit for use which it was designed due to manufacturing defect in workmanship and material will be replaced with an equivalent tire.
Limited Warranty Only Applies To The Original Purchaser, And Is Valid If All Of The Following Apply:
- The tire is a size and speed rating equivalent to or greater than that specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
- The tire has been used only on the passenger or light truck vehicle on which it was originally installed.
- The tire has not been used in commercial service.
To initiate a warranty claim, the defective tire/tires must be returned to the CTP location where they were originally purchased for inspection; tires replaced under warranty become the property of Canada Tire Pro.
The Limited Warranty Does Not Cover The Following:
Road Hazards/Misapplications/Abuse
Tire damage or irregular wear due to:
- Road hazards (e.g., cuts, snags, bruises, stone drill, bulge, impact damage or punctures etc.);
- Improper use or operation, including, without limitation: Improper inflation pressure, overloading, tire/wheel spinning, use of an improper wheel, tire chain damage, misuse, misapplication, negligence, tire alteration, or for racing or competition purposes.
- Insufficient or improper maintenance, including, without limitation: failure to rotate tires every 10,000 km as recommended, wheel misalignment, worn suspension components, improper tire mounting or demounting, tire/wheel assembly imbalance, flat spotting caused by improper storage or brakelock; or other vehicle conditions, defects, or characteristics.
- Contamination or degradation by petroleum products or other chemicals, fire or other externally generated heat, or water or other material trapped inside the tire during mounting or inflation. Tires with sealant, balance, or other filler material that was not originally applied or inserted by the tire manufacturer. Tires inflated with anything other than air or nitrogen.
- Improper repair. Improper repair voids the Limited Warranty.
Rapid Tread Wear
- Tires used in commercial service have no mileage warranty. (such as mail carrier, taxi cab or ride sharing vehicles).
Irregular Wear
- Uneven or unusual wear patterns, including, without limitation: Shoulder wear, center wear, cupping, or feathering.
- Tires worn more than 0.8 mm (1/32 inch) difference in remaining tread depth between any two major tread grooves across the tire.
Cracking
- Weather/ozone cracking is not covered under the terms of this Limited Warranty.
Other
- Tires used in commercial service.
- Tires purchased as used.
- Tires purchased and primarily used outside Canada.
- Failure to follow any of the safety and maintenance recommendations.
- Any consequential damages and costs associated with returning goods, including but not limited to: loss of vehicle or equipment, loss of time, towing, loss of revenue, or inconvenience.
TBR Tire General Warranty
The TBR warranty below applies to TBR (truck, bus and radial) tires – these are tires sold for heavy vehicles such as semi trucks and busses.
LIMITED WARRANTY:
- Canada Tire Pro offers 90 DAYS warranty for truck tires.
- Damage is NOT covered under warranty.
- An eligible tire that becomes unfit for use which it was designed due to manufacturing defects in workmanship and material will be replaced with an equivalent tire.
EXCHANGE AND RETURN POLICY:
Tires can ONLY be exchanged or returned prior to installation in 30 days.
LIMITED WARRANTY ONLY APPLIES TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER, AND IS VALID IF ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:
- The tire size, load range, and speed rating are equivalent to or greater than, that specified or recommended for use by the vehicle manufacturer.
- The tire has been used only on the truck vehicle on which it was originally installed.
- To initiate a warranty claim, the defective tire/tires must be returned to the CTP location where they were originally purchased for inspection; tires replaced under warranty become the property of Canada Tire Pro.
THE LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING:
- ROAD HAZARDS/MISAPPLICATION/ABUSE tire damage or irregular wear due to:
- Road hazards (e.g., cut, snag, bruise, stone drill, bulge, impact damage or puncture, etc.).
- Improper use or operation, including, without limitation: Improper inflation pressure, overloading, tire/wheel spinning, use of an improper rim, tire chain damage, misuse, misapplication, negligence, tire alteration, or for racing or competition purposes.
- Insufficient or improper maintenance, including, without limitation: wheel misalignment, worn suspension components, improper tire mounting or demounting, improper retread, improper repair, improper buffing, tire/wheel assembly imbalance, improper brake adjustment, or other vehicle conditions, defects, or characteristics.
- Contamination or degradation by petroleum products or other chemicals, fire or other externally generated heat, or water or other material trapped inside the tire during mounting or inflation. Tires with sealant, balance, or other filler material that was not originally applied or inserted by the tire manufacturer.
- Uses other than long haul service for any extended casing guarantee claims;
- Accident, fire, chemical corrosion, contamination, tire alteration or vandalism; flat spotting caused by improper storage; the addition of liquid, solid or gaseous materials other than air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide;
- RAPID & IRREGULAR TREAD WEAR, OR WEAR OUT
Uneven or rapid wear caused by mechanical irregularity in the vehicle, such as wheel misalignment or worn/damaged suspension components, resulting in damage to the under-tread, carcass or steel belts, including, without limitation: Shoulder wear, center wear, cupping, or feathering.
- CRACKING
Weather/ozone cracking is not covered under the terms of this Limited Warranty.
4. OTHER
Any consequential damages and costs associated with returning goods, including but not limited to: loss of vehicle or equipment, loss of time, towing, loss of revenue, or inconvenience.
